A tool that has no equal in this world, Toirneach MKII is the successor of the original Toirneach and an upgrade for the specific use case of Revaliir. It has two main functions now instead of its original one: first as a spell amplifier with ludicrous amounts of synergy for spectral arrows and second as a high-powered, concealed crossbow.
Toirneach MKII is shaped like a long, hollow, metallic cylinder with an impossibly sturdy, wooden handle and magically enhanced spyglass. Its original purpose was to function solely as a long-range, spell augmentation platform that worked for all spells but had special synergy for spectral arrows. That has not changed, and a single cast of spectral arrow through the implement is like an extremely powerful, arcane cannon shot from an airship with the ability to punch a hole in a dragon skull from several hundred meters away. The biggest downside to this firepower is that there is a cooling period between each shot that is proportional to the amount of power used. At maximum power, for example, the weapon can take 15+ minutes to cool down, and, in the meantime, the rod becomes extremely hot to the touch, able to render 3rd degree burns in seconds.
Unlike the original Toirneach that became little more than a bludgeon during this cooldown period, however, the MKII is now capable of having crossbow bolts loaded into it by cocking back the rearmost part of the handle and loading a single bolt into the spring contraption that now runs throughout the entire, hollow apparatus of the cylinder. This added feature is heat resistant and full of foreign metals from The Void that allow for extreme concentrations of potential energy. While it is easy to load by design, the force of the shot it produces is much like a high-powered ballista in the palm of your hand and can be used even in the absence of magical energy. Of course, that means that the recoil is hell for a lone marksman without any sort of protection, so a buffer has been added onto the end of the handle to protect the user: a sort of squishy, kinetic barrier composed of materials from The Void that don't eliminate the kick but do prevent damage. There is also now an insulating point at the back of the barrel where it can be grabbed during cooldown without fear of burns, overall making this MKII model a direct upgrade to the MKI in both style and ability.
Strangely, Toirneach MKII still seems to be tied directly to Natsumi in some inexplicable way like the MKI was. It crumbles into dust whenever someone other than her tries to take it, only to be reformed in her hands whenever she wills it. It is her mainstay weapon that she always has at the ready.

A spell of entirely foreign implications, transference is from a school of magic that only Natsumi knows in full detail and does not come from the Tree. With this spell in hand, everything is energy to her, and transference is the means by which she controls that energy.

It is an extremely powerful spell, and can be either permanent or temporary. Additionally, it can be cast on herself or anyone/anything else. That said, sentient creatures, especially those of intelligence comparable to humanoids, can attempt to resist the effects of this spell. Mind tower is a particularly effective guard against it, but anyone who is mentally compromised for whatever reason or not skilled in magic will have a tougher time resisting the spell. Also, making the effects of this spell permanent for anything except the memory alterations will drain considerable amounts of energy. It is not meant to be used lightly, especially in the realm of permanence.
