Name: Lazarus, family name unknown

Aliases: Variations and diminutives of his name, or simply "Father". Often cited as a Wendigo for his choice of ceremonial attire.

Age: Unknown; Appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties. He seems to have first-hand knowledge of important events that substantially pre-date his birth, leading many to suspect reincarnation, possession, or an unnaturally-prolonged life.

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Affiliations: Tethered to a place known as the "October Country", an artificial conduit plane by means of having died at birth. It has many curious properties, making it similar to purgatory or death, but is fully apart from either. It is said one can also reach out to this realm in dreams and other various altered states of consciousness. The plane itself is serene and unchanging, resembling an endless countryside deep in the midst of Autumn, which seems symbolic; however, it is quite treacherous. Stagnating dead spirits often hide and roam here. Devils and eldritch entities are also known to inhabit this abstract locale. For these reasons, seeking communion if one was not already chosen to be there is not advised. Not that this has stopped cults, mages, and the simply bold through the ages. The creator of the realm is unknown, but it has existed quietly for nearly as long as the physical world itself.

Homeland: Runcible Grove, a town in Canelux that was destroyed, then mysteriously wiped from all maps and histories. Another that would receive the Mark also lived there. Alas, that man was never meant to become a Cleric, his transition into the realm, and the tragic Mandela effect covering his losses affecting him far more adversely than Lazarus.

Residence: Nothing permanent. Always on the move.

Base Class: Sable Cleric - Dark mystics chronicled to be master alchemists, and an unorthodox antithesis to necromancers. Despite their title, they serve no gods or masters per se; they are chosen by whatever sacred, formless intelligence drives the forgotten and hidden realm, the October Country. Laying the dead to rest and healing those in need are their primary concerns, like any good cleric. When necessary, they are also highly capable of slaying supernatural beings that feed upon mortals, such as demons or vampires. Their very blood and aura draws such creatures in, but is also toxic to them. Aside from this, they are imbued with an array of spiritual powers and arcane trickery to be able to effectively hunt things normally superior to mere men. At present, Lazarus is the only one of his kind. He is also unique to his predecessors, in that he would rather break a curse or come to a compromise than resort to violence.

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 180 lbs.

Body: Lithe, but densely-muscled, with a slight soft suppleness. Built for short, decisive bursts of intense power and agile maneuvering. Not particularly enduring, as one does not win battles against monsters with attrition. Has thick hair on his torso, legs, and forearms.

Skin Tone: Pale olive

Eyes: Rose gold kaleidoscopes of fiery and dark Autumn tones. They are the mark of a Sable Cleric.

Hair Color/Style: Warm black, with bronze highlights; neck-length and wavy, with a jaw beard, soul patch and moustache loosely outlined and connected by stubble.

Voice: Deep bass, with a slight rasp from regular smoking of herbs. Speaks with a very thick and leisured drawl, and uses slang not native to most of Revaliir. Often has humorous and obscure ways of describing things and expressing himself. At disconcerting moments with heavy use of his gifts, the characteristic twang in his speech may vanish completely - becoming smooth, even, and discerning. This is often accompanied by a soft glow in his eyes.

Marks: Two small, though distinct moles - one below his left eye, and the other above his lips to the right of his nose. His body is riddled with a myriad of various scars.

Attire: An eclectic contrast of conservative meets occultic and ominous. He sports the black duster of a lawman or traditional cleric…mended in several places where it has been rended. He wears plain tunics, trousers, and boots, rugged in quality. He seems fond of stitching charms and wards into the fabrics. In the midst of this unassuming guise, he sports a necklace of leviathan bones with runes etched upon them. Furthermore, though he is most often seen wearing a broad-rimmed hat, he has also been known to don a helm of sorts crafted from the skull of a great stag. This, along with a cloak covered in raven's feathers lends him the appearance of a witch doctor or skin walker. Whether this detail is merely a dramatization on his part to strike fear into that which he hunts, or has special significance, he will never reveal.

Base Alignment: Neutral Good

Personality: Lazarus exudes genuine warmth and charm, even when he deals with the more sentient offenders that he is called to deal with. He possesses a vibe of being rather naive and optimistic, but he knows far more about how the worlds work than he ever lets on, both the seen and the unseen. He avoids all temptations and vices, aside from the smoking of herbs. Purity, it seems, is of great importance to him…as it would be to any true man of the cloth. He will never hesitate to help those in need. Overall, he is a very old soul, given to numerous mosaics of constitution. Being around him for any length of time, one can get the sense of him being simultaneously a man of deep secrets, but also stark honesty.

Family: Whether from amnesia or repression, he does not remember much about his upbringing.

Companions: TBD

Deity of Worship: Denial of the Revaliiric gods' divine status is not particularly egregious, though it is present. He speaks to them and of them with the utmost of respect, however. Speaking little of his personal beliefs, they seem to revolve around the pantheistic idea that God is all, God is one. Perhaps this is a product of the knowledge that there are indeed worlds beyond our own.

Abilities and Powers: Chief among the cleric's repertoire are the blessings bestowed by his otherworldly symbiosis. Not only do his blood and energy draw in and poison supernatural predators, they also makes his physiology immune to their siring afflictions. The ability to project his consciousness is ever-present, and is only strengthened by the mixtures of herbs he smokes. He can manifest this physically, albeit momentarily, in the form of a short-range "blink" to avoid harm or traverse quickly. With an expanded consciousness too also comes unique perceptions - Lazarus can sense and communicate with spirits and disembodied entities.

In combat specifically, he can enhance his strength by artificial means, but he is quite strong already in his own right. He trains at odd moments with a curious and archaic, though intuitive system of statics using his own body or environment. When ired, he is fierce and unrelenting; nonetheless, he's reliant on experience alone. Extensively-trained humanoid opponents or intelligent beasts can overcome him if his wits aren't about. Lazarus' abilities mainly revolve around healing, protection, and laying the dead to rest. When pressed, however, his faith can assume darker expressions. Decaying Yang exists alongside the Autumnal agent's restoring Yin, in the form of summoning gnawing insect swarms, sapping a foe's essence, or malignant curses.


Weapons: Indulgent in simplicity midst a complex existence, he prefers the use of small practical implements, re-purposed and charmed to suit a hunt. He is most often seen wielding a hatchet or a pair of daggers.
